We have recently started a collaboration with Storybook Dads, a scheme which runs inside over 80 UK prisons, allowing fathers to record bedtime stories onto CDs and DVDs for their children.
Give a Book is providing books to be sent with these recordings, so that children can read along with the story.
We have so far sent books to 7 UK prisons, along with bookplate stickers for parents to write in. Popular book choices have included The Hungry Caterpillar, The Gruffalo, and Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes. We are grateful to Macmillan, Orchard Books, Penguin Random House and Walker Books for helping us supply books for this project.
