This month, fittingly for the Summer, historian and keen cricketer Tom Holland chooses a suitably nostalgic book for us, Finn Family Moomintroll by Tove Jansson.
This was my favourite book as a child. It is the greatest portrayal of being happy and on holiday I know. Tove Jansson was a great artist as well as a great story-teller, and so her illustrations of Moomin Valley are an essential part of what makes this book so magical. And if you like it, then there are eight others in the series to read!
