Sarah Waters: Poems That Make Grown Men Cry

Sarah Waters OBE is a multi-award winning British author. She has written 6 novels, including Tipping the Velvet (1998), which won the Betty Trask Award and was adapted into a multi-award winning and BAFTA nominated television programme. Waters has been named Author of the Year four times and was awarded an OBE in 2019 in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for Services to Literature.

A range of emotion-inducing poems chosen by a hundred famous men including Stephen Fry, Salman Rushdie, Patrick Stewart and Benjamin Zephaniah. Joy, pain, sadness, hope, the courage to keep going in the face of heartbreak… The poems in this collection are a testimony to the extraordinary power of poetry to move, inspire and save us. Also brilliant is the follow-up volume, in which women do the selecting: Poems That Make Grown Women Cry.
