Since 2011, the annual Chalke Valley History Festival has set out to excite, enthral and entertain about the past.
A festival dedicated to history, it is a wonderfully varied week of talks, discussions, debates, and immersive live events. This year it takes place in Broad Chalke, near Salisbury, from 26th June to 2nd July.
CVHF have gathered a fantastic list of speakers to contribute to their week-long programme. Give a Book are grateful to receive the support of two of these events, Last of the Originals: Major Mike Sadler, and Jacques Altmann: French Holocaust Survivor.
Other speakers this year include Dan Snow, Andrew Marr, and Niklas Frank.
All proceeds from the festival have, since 2012, been directed to the Chalke Valley History Trust, which promotes the understanding of history to people of all ages, especially children.
Tickets are now on sale for the festival. See the full programme and buy tickets here.
