Discover’s London Children’s Book Swap

Discover’s London Children’s Book Swap is taking over London.

Over 70 venues across London will be celebrating Discover’s London Children’s Book Swap’s sixth birthday on Saturday 11 February, when all their doors will open to anyone wanting to recycle children’s books – and give children new books to read.

A love of reading shared – such a simple idea that was created by Discover in 2012, who continue to encourage and build this exciting free annual event across London. 2017 will see a record breaking number of family friendly venues and libraries signed up for this mega book project. Bring an old book to your closest London Children’s Book Swap venue and pick up a different book to take home for free.

For one day only, literally thousands of books will be swapped in an action packed day of free activities at over 70 venues, across 23 London boroughs, working with and using the ideas developed by Discover! Some of the 70+ venues include: Barbican Children’s Library, Dagenham Library, Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch, Institut Français Kensington, Charlton House, Polka Theatre Wimbledon, Southbank Centre and The Deptford Lounge.

Discover always works closely with each of the venues taking part, and to get the ‘starting pool of books to swap’ rolling, Discover will be taking donations of books to distribute amongst all the venues involved in London Children’s Book Swap. Give a Book has been delighted to send some.

For the love of books – come out on Saturday 11 February 2017 11am -5pm with a book to swap and be part of the biggest ever London Children’s Book Swap.

Join in the FREE DAY of fun to recycle and renew your personal library. After you’ve swapped your books, make a stunning bookmark for your new stories.  Come to Discover Children’s Story Centre, 383-387 High Street, Stratford, London, E15 4QZ 020 8536 5555
