Libraries in Prisons
Still on the subject of the ‘ban’ on books in prisons, there was an interesting article by Aime Williams the other day.
Are libraries in prisons the answer? Not, it seems, as they are currently managed where there can only be very brief visits to the library sometimes once a month or less. There was enlightening inside information from Noel ‘Razor’ Smith, from The Library Campaign and Inside Time. …GAB works with The Reading Agency to provide mini-dictionaries as prizes and incentives for prisoners taking up their Six Book Challenge.
