Each year, we look to support a whole school reading project – working with a school which is proactive in promoting reading and wants to increase reading for pleasure throughout the whole school.
Over lockdown, children have missed months of school, so this September it feels more important than ever to reconnect children with books and the pleasure of reading. This year we are working with Larkspur Primary School in Hertfordshire, to help it become a school with reading at its heart.
The staff at Larkspur are keen to get more children reading and want all pupils to have access to a diverse selection of books to help inspire them as well as improve their reading ability.
We have started by giving a book to each child for the start of their school year this week. We look forward to continuing our support for the children at Larkspur throughout the year.
