Since 2014, we have been working with Heathmere Primary School in Roehampton on a variety of projects, getting involved where we can to get children reading and support the wonderful work of the Heathmere teachers.
From setting up a Breakfast Book Club, helping set up 2 Little Free Libraries in the playground as well as helping them establish and stock a library within the school, it has been a pleasure to see a school so determined to build an environment for children to discover and enjoy reading. We also supported a Pop-Up project at Heathmere, and have provided book gifts for Year 5 and 6 pupils and school leavers.
Now, we are excited to be providing books for the first Roehampton Reads Festival, which will take place at Heathmere School on Saturday 23rd June. With a great line-up of events, it will be a wonderful chance for children and families to listen to authors, poets, illustrators and performers in this festival of words, books and stories.
